Scientists have shown that human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation are pumping far more CO2 into our atmosphere than ever before. Historically, natural amounts of CO2 range from 180 to 300 parts per million. Today's CO2 levels are 380 parts per million and climbing. That's 25% more than the highest natural levels over the past 650,000 years. If nothing is done to curtail these activities, the projections for the future are quite concerning.
